The Department at a Glance

The Department of Banking is one of the scientific departments of the Nineveh Technical Management Institute. It was established in 1994 to provide state institutions and the private sector with qualified technical staff to work in various banking activities and operations, including deposits, commercial papers, bank credit, bank accounting, external transfers, and documentary credits. The department admits students from both the scientific and literary branches of preparatory schools. The duration of study is two years, including two months of summer training.

Mission

To provide financial and banking institutions with skilled professionals capable of development and creativity in the financial and banking field, in line with the requirements of the times and rapid technological developments.

Aims 

  1. Preparing qualified technical staff to work in the financial and banking sectors and related activities, while continuously developing knowledge and skills in banking, investment, financial markets, and insurance, with a focus on adopting modern technology.
  2. Utilizing blended learning (traditional and electronic) by providing students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in banking specialization, using electronic platforms such as Google Meet, Google Classroom, and other modern tools.

Graduate Description 

Graduates of the Department of Banking will be able to:

  • Perform internal and external banking operations.
  • Conduct insurance operations for various related activities.
  • Execute investment activities in securities and participate in activities of the Iraq Stock Exchange.
  • Carry out operations related to granting bank credit and follow up on loan collections.
  • Use modern technologies in their specialized field
